Melbourne, Australia Westpac Group Full time

**How will I help?**

We’re a fun, inclusive team that embraces innovative disruption as we develop and implement great solutions. Passionate, creative, and agile, our team is supported by leaders who are also data, analytics, and domain experts. Together, we love championing new data products and service capabilities for our stakeholders and customers.

Our fun is complemented by a serious mandate. The Head of Financial Crime, Data Platforms will serve a critical internal client: the Financial Crimes business department. Your team of approximately 150 colleagues sits within the Data Platforms Group Business Unit (GBU) division which comprises four departments: Credit Risk; Financial Crime; Finance and Regulatory; and Operational Risk, HR, and Customer Remediation.

An influential data leader, you will play a crucial role designing, building, and implementing data solutions for the department that works to protect the customers and community we serve. In addition to being a culture champion, you are also a ‘builder’ who recognises that this role is exceptionally rare: an opportunity to bring your skills to build a best-in-class data management capability focused on delivering client delight. Your data delivery program expertise and curiosity will be complemented by outstanding interpersonal skills. You will be as adept at listening to and partnering with internal stakeholders as you are skilful at devising and implementing creative data delivery solutions.

Responsibilities will include:

- Lead and/or contribute to the Financial Crime department's data execution and roadmaps that align to the Westpac Group’s Data Strategy and architectural standards.
- Leading a team of 150 staff members which includes vendor staff
- Deliver data services and projects for Financial Crime including data products, insights, and reporting for regulatory and business purposes.
- Effectively manage all Financial Crime-sponsored complex data programs and projects, costs, risks, resource requirements, and timelines. Ensure solutions meet required customer, business and quality outcomes in balance with wider corporate strategic goals and standards.

**What’s in it for you?**

You’ll play an important and significant part in the future of a business that has been around for 200 years and be instrumental in achieving our purpose of helping Australians succeed. So, we’ll back you in the development of your career, with internal career prospects and flexible working. You’ll also be backed by a fantastic team of people in a can-do, supportive structure.

**What do I need?**

To be set up for success in this role, you will be able to demonstrate:

- Demonstrated experience leading large Agile teams, including external partners, that execute end-to-end programs and support mission-critical activities.
- Advanced knowledge of modern data and integration technologies, data warehousing and cloud computing
- Senior and successful client stakeholder management (GM level)
- Client centricity; demonstrated understanding of the inter-relationship between IT and the business client
- Demonstrated experience delivering programs on time, increasing efficiency and cost effectiveness through IT process improvements
- Strong operational-risk management skills
