Analyst Asset Finance Pricing

**Your Business**

Business Banking (BB) manages relationships with Commonwealth Bank’s small-medium enterprise customers, mid-market corporate customers, and regional and agribusiness customers, providing a wide range of financial services and solutions. It also services our personal and institutional online trading customers.

Business Lending (BL) is a product and specialised sales team that offers working capital, business loans, asset finance, corporate finance, and property finance to our customers. It also has responsibility for Line 1 risk and controls for these products. BL is directly responsible for product management, process management, portfolio and pricing management. It works closely with bankers, data and analytics, digital and customer experience teams.

**Your Team**

As part of the Asset Finance Product Management team we are continuously developing and refining the Asset Finance product and service offerings base on market trends and competitors’ activities to fulfil the customers’ Asset Finance needs, while contributing to the Bank’s overall profitable growth in market share and revenue.

**In this role**

You will be playing an internal consultant within Business Lending focusing on pricing requests, reviewing submitted scenarios and working with the frontline to optimise revenue and risk adjusted measures of performance. Here, you will be held accountable for delivering superior client outcomes and managing the businesses pricing framework and adherence.

You will be gaining exposure with various senior stakeholders across a number of business units whilst assisting in managing the Asset Finance balance sheet and P&L, supporting the Asset finance business analytics capabilities and delivering ongoing capital benefits for the Group and its shareholders.

**Other responsibilities will also include**:

- Assisting and encouraging the development of objectives, strategies and plans aimed at improving pricing models, capital utilisation, and financial efficiency
- Collaborating with the internal team in decision escalated pricing requests for Asset Finance deals
- Designing and monitoring pricing strategies that optimise client and stakeholder value
- Analysing and evaluating current systems and structures to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement
- Assisting and managing the pricing inbox and frontline pricing escalations to approve Business Lending deals, directly influencing the composition of the portfolio
- Connecting and educating internal stakeholders on the best-in-class pricing behaviours and assisting in structuring deals
- Reviewing and analysing insights of organisations generating ideas and taking them through to implementation
- Providing consideration of the volume/margin tradeoff and the overall Business Banking strategy when considering requests in implementing approved recommendations, issuing revised, and drafting other documentation
- Reviewing operating procedures and advising of departures from procedures and standards

**We are interested in people who have**:

- Strong analytical skills with expertise in financial modelling, pricing strategy, and cost of funds management
- Robust knowledge of capital markets, macroeconomic trends and treasure operations
- Experience in process optimisation, data analytics, and strategic decision making with their commercial mind-set to transform data into business outcomes
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate financial insights into actional recommendations
- Ability to engage proactively with the frontline to manage pricing requests and escalation.
- Strong quantitative / problem-solving mind-set to be able to deal with ambiguity and incomplete information
- Demonstrated experience working in a commercial lending and/or business bank context is desirable
