Who you are
You have a genuine interest in people’s everyday life at home and a passion for home furnishing and sales. You have a demonstrated ability to inspire your team to achieve great things, set clear expectations and provide clarity where needed. You are outcomes-driven, highly motivated and work equally as well in a team as you do independently. You are motivated by seeing others succeed and are focused on exceeding expectations and KPI’s through the strengths of your team. Using commercial priorities to structure your work in addition to being a recognised problem-solver and a considered decision-maker will see you lead by example when it comes to providing an outstanding customer journey.
**Your responsibilities**
As a Sales Department Manager, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Securing the vitality of the IKEA store in all media by working closely with your store commercial team and using the IKEA product range to ensure customers feel inspired to visit the store more frequently.
- Retaining excellent knowledge of the IKEA product range, national priorities, volume commitments, local market conditions and local store competitors, and using this information to drive the store commercial calendar.
- Ensuring a qualitative and efficient implementation in your store through clear communication and securing that all functions take responsibility for delivery of their part.
- Leading and communicating the commercial calendar and store activity plan to your colleagues in a way that motivates them to take ownership for their part in achieving the overall goals.
- Acting quickly on commercial opportunities; changing availability of products (overstock/out of stock) and customer feedback.
- Analysing activity performance, and identifying successful activities, solutions and ideas. You will use this information to improve your planning of future activities and giving feedback to colleagues on what has worked and what has not.
- Coaching your team to develop professionally and supporting them in reaching career aspirations.
**Together as a team**
The Commercial Activity team works with all departments to optimise the customer shopping experience in creating an appealing store layout, making a lasting impression for our customers. Not only do we have extensive knowledge of the IKEA product range but we’re constantly finding new ways of making real connections with our customers to maximise sales and profitability within the IKEA Vision of creating a better everyday life for the many people
