**About QIMR Berghofer**:

**About** the Microscopy and Spatial Cell Biology Facility**:
The Microscopy and Spatial Cell Biology Facility at QIMR Berghofer provides high-level microscopy services for researchers at the institute. The Facility houses a large number of modern microscopy instruments including confocal, multiphoton, widefield fluorescence, slide scanners, multi-well live cell imagers and three leading single cell spatial biology platforms.

**Role Purpose / Responsibilities**:
Reporting to and working closely with the Microscopy and Spatial Cell Biology Facility Manager, you will use your knowledge and skills to coordinate and maintain the activities associated with spatial cell biology within the facility across the institute. This will include liaising with researchers, scientists and other Scientific Services staff to facilitate experiments using the spatial biology platforms within the facility.

The following duties will apply:

- Provide advice and assistance in the design, development and delivery of spatial cell biology experiments for both internal researchers and external clients
- Ensure the effective maintenance and management of the spatial biology platforms including the AKOYA Phenocycler, Bruker Nanostring CosMx and 10X Xenium
- Coordinate with Histology staff to perform experimental runs on spatial biology instruments
- Collaborate with researchers to ensure the integrity of spatial cell biology experiments
- Provide expertise and initiative in operating the spatial biology instruments
- Ensure scientific data acquired is collected, managed and stored within the Information Technology guidelines
- Participate in ongoing development, documentation and implementation of protocols and methods for the delivery of researcher requirements
- Utilise expertise and experience to continuously improve the service
- Manage reagent stocks and consumables for instruments

**About you**:
To be successful in this role, you will hold at least a Bachelor’s degree in Science/Biomedical Science or related field. A bright, enthusiastic, client/service-oriented approach, good communication skills and a high-level of attention to detail are essential for this role.

**Remuneration**:Salary range is $93,651.76 to $101,400.12 p.a. plus super and generous salary packaging. This is a full-time, ongoing appointment.
