**The Role**
An opportunity exists for an experienced rehabilitation consultant to work as an APS6 Rehabilitation Case Manager (RCM) overseeing occupational rehabilitation service delivery in the Perth area to Australian Defence Force members. You will lead a team of contracted rehabilitation consultants who are responsible for day-to-day delivery of occupational rehabilitation services to ADF members who are injured or ill. You will work with a multidisciplinary health team consisting of medical officers, mental health professionals and other specialist and allied health providers in ensuring development and delivery of a coordinated occupational rehabilitation plan.
RCMs are responsible for ensuring that overarching Defence policy is applied as well as exercising delegations under the Military Rehabilitation and Compensation Act and the Safety Rehabilitation and Compensation (Defence Related Claims) Act as necessary. A key aspect of this role is liaison with ADF member’s Commanding Officers as well as other internal and external stakeholders/organisations, to ensure that member’s occupational rehabilitation goals are well aligned, achievable, and on-track.
This position is part of the broader RCM team across WA and the country which provides a rich network of support in the individual’s health professional network as well as in the specialised area of occupational rehabilitation.
**About our Team**
Joint Health Command (JHC) is responsible for the delivery of military medicine and joint healthcare services to over 70,000 Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel. JHC is also responsible for the health preparedness of ADF personnel for operations, and the coordination of health units for deployment in support of operations.
The RCM will have excellent communication and negotiation skills and develop productive relationships across stakeholders both internal and external to Defence. They will anticipate, identify, and respond to stakeholders’ needs and expectations. They will be accountable to contribute towards ongoing self-improvement and professional development.
The RCM will have experience in leading, mentoring and coaching a team to develop less experienced team members. They may exercise the associated people and financial responsibilities to achieve work unit outcomes.
