**APS5 - Coordinator, Family History**:

We are seeking to fill the role of Coordinator, Family History (APS 5) in the Reader Services Section of the Engagement Branch. The role is an exciting opportunity to be part of a part of a team supporting the Library’s readers and researchers, particularly family history researchers.
In this role you are responsible for the quality of family history reference and research support and will set priorities for others and support online service improvement through:
- Monitoring service activity.
- Workload allocation.
- Undertaking Reporting activities including:
- Statistical reporting
- Reader Services reporting
- Assisting with other Section and Branch projects.
- Undertaking project work as required.
You will provide expertise and support regarding the delivery of the Library’s Reference and Client services, specifically supporting Family History, Special and Asian Collections via:
- the Library’s Reading Rooms (face to face); and
- online and phone reference channels.
You will have a great client focus as you will liaise with closely with internal and external stakeholders, contribute ideas and participate in the implementation of service improvement initiatives and change in the workplace. This will include:
- Promoting the Library by presenting Learning Program sessions.
- Providing training support on Family History, Special and Asian Collections.
- Developing resources for researchers, such as research guides, blogs and web content.
The role requires regular evening and weekend work - undertaken during the Library’s advertised reading room opening hours.
It is desirable that you hold qualifications or equivalent experience in Information Management, Arts, Humanities or Social Sciences.
A merit pool will be established which can be accessed for up to 18 months from the date of advertising.
