Company Description **This is an opportunity to join the Octopus office in either Melbourne or Sydney to focus on the launch and ongoing delivery of Octopus Australia renewable energy funds. The successful applicant will be able to join a team in Australia during an exciting period of growth as the country accelerates the transition away from coal towards renewables.** **About Octopus** Octopus is a fast-growing company with more than 800 employees. The core technology in this portfolio is solar PV - Octopus now manages over 1.3 GW of solar projects in the UK, France, Italy and Australia on behalf of its investors and has the equivalent of nearly AUD 7 billion under management in the Energy team. We have one of the fastest growing energy retail businesses in the UK with almost 2 million customers. In January 2018 an office was opened in Melbourne to take advantage of a rapidly growing renewable energy investment market. We have invested in the 333 MWDC Darlington Point Solar Farm - the largest so far in Australia - and have a strong national pipeline of projects across solar, wind and grid battery storage. We have a team of >25 across Melbourne, Sydney, and Auckland **Job Description**: About the role **OSCAR (In-house Asset Management) Business** Support all financial and commercial aspects of OSCAR Business, including: - Responsible for reporting all asset performance - KPI tracking, asset updates etc - Assisting with managing all external Asset Management contracts and OSCAR contracts - focussing on all commercial and finance aspects - Updating quarterly asset valuation models and preparation of quarterly valuations reports - Updating ESG reporting, case studies and KPIs - Assisting with implementing asset management platforms (i.e. Power BI) to monitor asset performance - Preparing Asset Board papers and attending meetings (as required by Directors) - Financial onboarding of new assets in Development, Construction and Asset Management Working with wider Octopus Australia team to build out: - OSCAR Profit & Loss and cashflow - Update and review OSCAR pricing methodology for new deals in Development Construction and Asset Management (against external benchmarks) - Assisting with OSCAR (5 year) Business plan - Preparation of OSCAR documentation across asset phases, with support from technical team (i.e. monthly reports, risk registers, Strategic Asset Plans) - Ongoing document management across phases - Assisting with capturing OSCAR team’s time through timesheets - Preparing OSCAR slides for Investor presentations **Qualifications**: Essential Job Functions - Recently or soon to be Qualified CA/CFA with at least 2 years’ experience in an accounting or finance role. - Extremely well organised, good attention to detail, and ability to prioritise workload; always being one step ahead and anticipating needs and potential issues. - A self-starter with high energy levels, tenacity, initiative and a willingness to commit whatever it takes to deliver the required results. - Team player with a positive, can-do attitude. - Understanding of asset performance KPIs and dashboards (Power BI is preferred but not necessary) - Professional, trustworthy, acting with honesty and integrity always. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Confident on the telephone, has a strong service ethic, comfortable dealing with problems as well as having sales-related conversations. - Familiarity with, or as a minimum a genuine interest in, financial services, asset management and renewable energy sector. - The resilience to work in a fast moving, changing environment, and able to cope with ambiguity.
