**Job type: Full time (38 hours per week)**

**Salary: From $81,000 + Super**

Oz Strawberry is located in Beerwah, Queensland 4519 and grows healthy and delicious strawberries supplying the whole of Australia. We are seeking a reliable and skilled farm worker for the position of Horticulture Grower with the following skills and responsibilities.

**To be considered for this role you must have**:

- Certificate III or IV in Horticulture or related field is essential.
- At least two years of relevant experience in the strawberry growing industry.
- You must be an Australian Citizen/Permanent resident or have legal working rights in Australia.

**Main tasks**

1. Crop Production Management
- Plan seasonal strawberry planting schedules (variety selection, rotation)
- Prepare fields (raised beds, plastic mulch installation, drip irrigation setup)
- Monitor plant growth stages and adjust cultivation practices accordingly

2. Field Operations & Maintenance
- Operate and maintain farm equipment (tractors, cultivators, sprayers)
- Manage irrigation systems and adjust schedules based on weather conditions
- Perform routine field maintenance (weed control, mulch repair, frost protection)
- Maintain optimal growing conditions for strawberry
- Develop strategies to manage damages caused by climate risks

3. Pest & Disease Control
- Implement IPM(Integrated Pest Management) strategies for common strawberry pests/diseases
- Conduct regular field scouting and maintain spray records
- Ensure compliance with pre-harvest intervals and safety standards

4. Harvest & Post-Harvest Operations
- Supervise daily harvesting crews and quality control standards
- Oversee proper grading, packing, and cold chain management
- Maintain accurate harvest records and food safety documentation

5. Team Leadership & Training
- Train seasonal workers in proper strawberry handling techniques
- Enforce safety protocols and efficient field operations
- Coordinate with farm management on labor scheduling and production goals
- Manage and implement work healthy and safety regulations

6. Others
- Monitoring market activities and participating planning and discussion about marketing
- Participating discussion about farm financial planning including budgeting

**Preferred Skills**
- Strong time management skills to handle seasonal workload peaks
- Keen attention to detail for identifying early signs of plant stress
- Effective problem-solving abilities for field challenges
- Have a passion for farming and experience in growing strawberries including insight into its characteristics and properties
