The Director of National Parks (the Director) is responsible for six national parks, the Australian National Botanic Gardens, 60 Australian Marine Parks and the Heard Island and McDonald Islands Marine Reserve established under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999.

Parks Australia is the federal park agency that supports the Director, and they are a division of the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (the Department). We work to showcase these natural and cultural wonders to the world, demonstrating to all why these places are so special, and inspiring communities to become more invested in their care and future.

Parks Support Services branch provides corporate services to the division including Assurance and Governance, Strategic Policy and Coordination, Procurement, and Property, Security and IT.

The Communication, Marketing and Tourism section is responsible for the delivery of a range of activities including Media and Communications, Internal Communications, Marketing, E-Commerce, and Tourism Policy and Planning.

**The Job**

In this role you will:

- Manage a small team with responsibility for Parks Australia’s online presence.
- Oversee the Parks Australia e-commerce project and associated contract management.
- Manage staff to ensure high levels of engagement and performance.
- Measure, report, and deliver on a range of annual key performance indicators.

**What we are looking for**
**Knowledge and experience**
- Experience managing staff and leading technical teams to deliver organisation objectives.
- Project management experience, including project planning, resource management, risk management, stakeholder engagement, and delivery within budget and timeframes.
- Establish and maintain standards, policies and procedures for digital products and services.
- Experience delivering digital projects within the Australian Public Service, including adhering to ICT protocols and policies, working to the Digital Service Standard and WCAG.

**Skills and capabilities**
- Ability to positively contribute to a strong leadership cohort, including appropriate issues escalation, strong understanding of delegations and commitment to role modelling team culture.
- Exceptional communication and engagement skills with a proven ability to build collaborative relationships with a wide range of internal and external clients, and stakeholders.
- Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines and achieve results with limited supervision; demonstrated judgment in dealing with complex issues; and ability to plan for and manage competing priorities and conflicting requests.

**Eligibility and other requirements**
**Citizenship** - To be eligible for employment with the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water you must be an Australian citizen.

**Security Clearance** - This position requires a Baseline Vetting security clearance. You will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.
