Due to the development of a new team, our client is seeking to fill several key leadership roles within their Distribution Networks Strategy team.

The Manager for Network Strategy and Planning will be responsible for developing strategic network management plans for the distribution network business including outlook, considering stakeholder needs and the external environment including industry disruption, using a range of future scenarios.

**Key responsibilities**
- Lead, manage and develop the Distribution Networks Strategy team;
- Define a 5-year strategy to optimise DMIA/DMIS opportunities, network, and grant funding (e.g.; ARENA, Victorian/Federal Government) for trialling new capabilities;
- Drive execution of this strategy to maximise revenue capture from relevant non-network solution funding streams;
- Develop initiatives arising from distributed energy resource integration (DERs) and technology implications, DSO/DERMS development, electric vehicles, storage and system support opportunities, remote area power supplies (RAPS)/stand-alone power supplies (SAPS), microgrids, community energy projects and other relevant technologies;
- Maintain analysis of the localised opportunities for storage, SAPS / RAPS, microgrids, EVs, storage and other disruptive technologies across the distribution technologies to inform development of trials and emerging business opportunities;
- Develop strategic responses, working with teams across the business, to address identified challenges and opportunities and drive prioritised investment decisions that accommodate an uncertain future;
- Prepare and maintain a set of future scenarios that are relevant to distribution networks;
- Develop and promote an integrated network vision that articulates the responses to disruption;
- Develop the non-network solution (DMIA/DMIS) strategy for the distribution networks business**;**:

- Lead and manage the annual business planning process for the electricity networks department;
- Effectively and regularly share industry developments and track and leverage interstate and overseas industry developments and use of new technology;
- Undertake strategic analysis to inform network developments and opportunities;
- Lead and prepare strategic network analysis arising from internal and external stakeholders’ requests;
- Represent the company networks on industry working groups related to key network trials and strategic developments.

**Qualifications & Experience**
- Tertiary qualifications in engineering, asset management, commercial or related disciplines;
- Post graduate qualifications in business management or leadership will be well regarded;
- Knowledge of the electricity industry, across technical, commercial and market operation;
- Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills to assess strategy, tactics and plans to achieve outcomes;
- Highly developed commercial and strategic decision-making skills;
- Experience developing strategic plans and initiatives in an energy sector context; and
- Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
