**The Division**
The Customer Strategy & Technology division brings a customer and future-lens to shaping mobility solutions, and provides the state-wide services of today.
**The opportunity**
Are you a passionate policy professional, who can effectively influence, negotiate and deliver meaningful change for Transport users across NSW? We are looking for someone with your skills and passion to be a Policy Officer within the Strategic Policy Team.
You will be responsible for undertaking research and analysis, reviewing alternatives relating to policy deliverables, coordinating and supporting the development and implementation of a range of policy initiatives and reforms related to transport. You will contribute to the delivery of policy commitments and advocate for transport interests in NSW. You will support the team in driving policy development across Transport for NSW and related agencies, using your outstanding communication and negotiation skills to influence decision-makers across the transport sector. Your work will shape strategic policy initiatives and projects to deliver innovative reform to improve customer experiences and community outcomes across the multiple transport modes in NSW. As a Senior Policy Officer, you will build and manage relationships with people and groups within Transport for NSW and agencies across the NSW Government, while delivering and prioritising the branch’s work plan.
In this fast-moving role, you will balance and prioritise work effectively and solve problems creatively. You will work with an experienced team to improve transport outcomes for our customers and community.
**What will you do?**
You will support effective and efficient functioning of the team by:
- Supporting the transport policy team to put our customers at the centre of our decision-making
- Researching, analysing and reviewing complex policy issues, identifying emerging issues, developing evidence-based options, and recommended solutions to resolve problems and mitigate risks.
- Working collegially in a new team environment, supporting your colleagues to deliver excellent advice and policy solutions
- Monitoring, evaluating and reporting on the development and implementation of policies to identify issues and ensure the achievement of desired outcomes
- Demonstrating flexibility and delivering high quality research leading to responsive advice in a dynamic environment
- Maintaining a comprehensive understanding of issues affecting commuters in NSW.
- Developing timely advice, detailed briefings, resource materials, reports, correspondence and submissions on a range of complex issues
- Building, maintaining and supporting effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to identify and develop policy and reform solutions and to inform policy decision making.
- Proactively practicing continuous improvement to ensure team, organisation and stakeholder expectations are met.
- Working in a complex policy environment and managing a diverse range of tasks at any given time and respond to emerging policy issues.
**About you**
You have a keen interest in policy with relevant tertiary and professional qualifications and/or equivalent experience. Ideally, you have equivalent experience delivering legislative reform and policy options within government or an understanding
