Kekeco Childcare operates a number of Early Childcare and Kindergarten centres in the regions of Kilmore, Broadford and Wallan north of Melbourne. Due to staffing vacancies within some of our centres, we need new child care leaders and educators to join us.

The positions we are looking for will be for five days a week and on rotating shifts. We are looking to retain consistency of staff so that the children and families who use our services know who the staff are every day and feel confident and comfortable that the staff working with the children know them, know each other, and are working as a team.

If you live in Mitchell Shire north of Melbourne and have an Early Childhood Education or Childcare qualification, we would love to talk to you.

The Early Childhood Care Room Leader (Diploma Level) positions we are looking for require you to be able to perform these duties:

- Undertake leadership and supervision responsibilities for one or more of our many childcare groups (organised by rooms)
- Take accountability for the room and childcare group you are assigned to, and to report on the progress of the children in your designated group and raise any issues
- Organise the activities of your assigned room and group, including organising recreational activities for the children and/or educational or other essential activities
- Setting agendas for activities within your assigned room in discussion and agreement with management, other room leaders, educators, and child carers, and implementing activities as per established plans
- Supervise day to day routine of children within your room
- Monitor and report on children’s social progress in interactions between their peers and with carers, identifying issues as they arise, and actively engaging the children to guide their social development
- Take an active role in interacting with the children, engaging them in play, in group and individual activities, in reading materials, and in visual arts and crafts
- Observing hygiene of children and ensuring overall OHS is observed. Ensuring hygiene is maintained during mealtimes such as hand washing routines, and for bathroom visits
- Regularly communicating with management and with other involved parties, such as parents, to talk about the children’s progress and any opportunities for improvement in the delivery of our child care program

The people we are looking for need to have all of the following qualities:
1. Have an Early Childhood qualification at Diploma level or higher, recognised by the ACECQA

2. Have at least 3 years of work experience in a Childhood Carer supervision role or comparable role

3. Be aware of Child Safe Standards

4. Hold an Employee Working with Children Check

5. Be immunized or have proof of a booking to be immunized for COVID by the dates set up the Dept of Education and Dept of Health

6. Able to demonstrate qualities of being caring and reliable

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $54,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year

- 8 hour shift
