Our client holds a strong presence in the Australian Agriculture sector. The business has overseas offices so you can expect a global company environment.

We are seeking an
**experienced Paralegal** who has a background from a commercial law firm, professional services office or similar in-house team. A law degree or work experience in a company secretarial matters will be highly regarded.

This role sits in the
**Legal Team** and reports to the General Counsel and you will have crossover with other senior stakeholders in the wider business. The role will focus on:

- Researching and sharing sound legal advice across areas of the business;
- Engaging and managing external legal counsel appointed to provide legal advice;
- Managing negotiations in respect of legal documentation, issues and disputes and conducting risk assessments and due diligence in respect of investments, divestments, mergers and acquisitions;
- Managing litigation, arbitration, other proceedings or disputes and government investigations, and making strategic and legal advice in relation to those proceedings and investigations;
- Preparing precedent documents as necessary for the efficient provision of legal services;
- Keeping abreast of changes in legislation and precedents;
- Providing compliance work and providing compliance related advice as needed;
- Provide assistance to the Company Secretary in its company secretarial work; and
- Maintain legal records as required by legislation and company policy and otherwise by good corporate governance.

The attributes and experience we are seeking:

- At least 2 years prior experience in a paralegal or legal assistant role;
- Background in professional services, law firm or similar business;
- Law degree or work experience in a company secretarial work would be highly regarded;
- Advanced keyboard skills, with the ability to work in track changes, prepare compare documents and format / number legal agreements;
- Advanced MS Word skills, MS Excel skills and MS PowerPoint skills; and
- Accuracy, strong attention to detail and organisational skills, demonstrated numeracy skills.

This Paralegal opportunity will begin as a 10 month contract with the view that this role will move to a permanent position. The business operates with agile and flexible working so you can
**work from home one day per week**. You can expect family friendly hours and no overtime.
