East Grampians Health Service aims to meet the needs of the community by offering a vast array of services based at the community health centre in Ararat. We also offer outreach services to Willaura, Lake Bolac and Elmhurst. Our services include dental, physiotherapy, exercise physiology, occupational therapy, podiatry, speech pathology, dietetics, diabetes education and social work. These services support other clinical areas including our acute and residential aged care patients. Our community health centre also hosts speciality clinics such as consulting suites for our visiting surgeons and maternal child and health.

**About the Role**:
The role of a Dental Assistant is an integral part of service delivery in our Dental department. This role works as part of a team to assist Dentists and Oral Health Therapists to provide quality direct patient care. The role includes chair side assistance and administrative support in the dental department. This important role contributes to effective patient flow.

Duties for this position will include:

- Assisting chairside for Dental Operators, Oral Health Therapists and students
- Preparing equipment, dental materials and instruments
- Contribute to patient flow by monitoring scheduling, work practices and time management
- Undertake administrative tasks including scheduling and voucher processing
