**ORGANISATION PROFILE**
Cumberland Women’s Health Centre (CWHC) is a not-for-profit community organization that works with women who experience family and domestic violence, trauma, and disadvantage in the Parramatta/Cumberland LGAs. The services we provide include crisis support, advocacy, referral, counseling, case management, and health-centered groups and programs. Our services help women to regain control of their lives and thrive through the development of self-confidence; reducing social isolation and building social networks; reducing health inequities; and achieving economic independence.

The position has the responsibility to:
- Collaborate with management to develop and implement an effective communication and marketing strategy based on the service target audiences.
- Assist with a range of project activities and support services, including preparation of reports and evaluations, and coordinating resources.
- Assist in planning campaigns and events, aiming to create a favourable view of the organization.
- Collaboratively develop and support community events, work with stakeholders, partners, and vendors relating to the events program, as well as report on data.
- Manage social media schedules and channels, ensuring the Centre’s mission and vision are communicated through all public and digital campaigns.
- Write, edit, and distribute content, including publications, press releases, website content, annual reports, speeches, and other marketing material that communicates the organisation’s activities, products, and/or services.
- Design various marketing assets and materials using graphic design principles and software.
- Develop proactive communication activities to ensure the organization leads on prominent matters.
- Maintain an awareness of socio-political and feminist issues.
- Provide effective, efficient, and timely services in a manner consistent with organisational philosophy, the state’s legislative and policy framework, organisational policies & procedures, service agreements, and other legal requirements.
**ESSENTIAL SELECTION CRITERIA**
- 2 or more years experience in a marketing and /or communication officer role.
- Qualifications in marketing and/or communications or equivalent.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain working relationships across all levels of an organization, with key stakeholders, and with members of the community.
- Demonstrated experience in community engagement, including sensitivity to working with women from diverse communities, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, culturally and linguistically diverse, LGBTQIA+, and people with disabilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to compose engaging content for online social media platforms, and excellent attention to detail.
- Demonstrated commitment to feminist practice and social justice.
- Demonstrated interest in and knowledge of women’s health issues, including domestic and family violence issues.
**DESIRABLE SELECTION CRITERIA**
- Experience working in a not-for-profit or community-based organisation.
- Excellent audio-visual skills
- Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse communities, and/or speaking more than one language.
**STATEMENT OF DUTIES**
**1.** **RISK MANAGEMENT ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES**
Staff are required to always act in a manner that does not place at risk the health and safety of themselves or any other person in the workplace. Staff should provide input into various risk management activities. Staff is responsible and accountable for taking practical steps to minimize the Centre’s exposure to risks including contractual, legal, and professional liability in so far as is reasonably practicable within their area of activity and responsibility.
**2.** **WORKPLACE HEALTH AND SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES, ACCOUNTABILITIES, AND AUTHORITIES**
- Ensure all plant, equipment, and/or procedures that are used in the conduct of work are regularly inspected and tested to verify that they conform to standards, legislative requirements, and/or specifications.
- Support rehabilitation in the workplace
- Ensure WH&S issues are raised at all team meetings.
- Ensure corrective action is taken to control workplace hazards.
- Report all accidents, incidents, and near misses in accordance with the Centre’s procedures.
- Ensure all equipment purchased meets WH&S requirements and is maintained and inspected in accordance with the Centre’s policies and procedures.
- Assess risks associated with all hazards identified and ensure appropriate controls are implemented to eliminate or reduce the risks.
