Intellect X Academy is focused on addressing the need for quality supplementary education for students from Year 1 to Year 12. We provide supplementary education in Mathematics, English and Sciences that reinforces student knowledge and challenges students to pursue excellence. Our primary objective is to improve education standards beyond the commendable level already present in our society. Unlike current schools with large class sizes, we provide a service that is both educationally intimate and affordable to the wider community. We are currently seeking a university student or graduate to fill the position of Mathematics Tutor (Secondary & VCE) at IXA Springvale.

**Job description**

As a Mathematics Tutor, you will be working in groups and one-on-one with high school students. Your role will involve teaching and assessing students’ understanding of maths concepts, providing tailored instructions and developing engaging lesson plans that cater to individual learning styles.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Utilise a variety of teaching methods to explain mathematical concepts clearly.
- Encourage and motivate students to build their confidence in math.
- Conduct assessments to determine students’ strengths and areas for improvement.
- Provide feedback and progress reports to students and parents.

**Applicants must**:

- Be able to work well in a team environment
- Have good communication skills
- Be enthusiastic about cultivating a learning and teaching environment
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Be available on Saturdays
- Be willing to obtain a Working with Children Check (E)

**Job Type**: Casual

Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 3 per week

Schedule:

- Weekends only

**Experience**:

- Teaching: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Working with Children Check (Employment) (required)
