**The Role**
Primary tasks of the Environmental Officer include:

- Support environmental planning for, and execution of ADF Exercises.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of Exercise Environmental Risk Assessment.
- Contribute to the development and management of the Community Consultation and Stakeholder Engagement Plan.
- Collaborate in the Environmental Impact Assessment for ADF Exercises.

**About our Team**
The Environmental Officer is responsive to the Department of Defence Environmental Governance and is responsible for supporting delivery of the environmental governance effect for major ADF Exercises.
- BSc Environmental Management or equivalent tertiary qualification.
- Comprehensive understanding of Federal, State and Territory Environmental Legislation eg: Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act.
- Understanding of Australian Government sensitivities as pertains to environmental management
- Superior communications skills.
- Superior analytical skills and a highly developed planning ability.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Microsoft suite of products.
- Previous joint operations/exercise planning experience.
