Full-Time Health Information Manager/Clinical Coder

An exciting opportunity exists for a highly motivated Health Information Manager / Clinical Coder to join our Health Information Service team at The Victorian Rehabilitation Centre. We are offering a full-time role of 38 hours per week.

The Victorian Rehabilitation Centre is a 90 bed rehabilitation facility. It offers an extensive range of inpatient and outpatient services. Our specialties include multi-trauma, orthopaedics, stroke, cardiac, restorative, respiratory and pain management rehabilitation. Located in Glen Waverley on Springvale Road, the facility is within easy access to all Melbourne's main road network, with the added bonus of onsite parking.

**In this position you will be responsible for**:

- Abstracting and allocating accurate clinical codes to inpatient episodes of care in an efficient and effective manner using ICD/ACHI/ACS.
- Liaising with clinical professionals to ensure clear and concise documentation to facilitate the accurate coding of inpatient data.
- Assisting and supporting the Chief Health Information Manager (CHIM) in all aspects of clinical coding, medical record management and related activities.

**Essential requirements**:

- On site attendance due to paper-based medical records
- Up to date knowledge and experience using ICD-10-AM including thorough knowledge of the Australian coding standards
- Ability to work autonomously and as a team member in a small team environment
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work within deadlines

**Desirable Requirements**:

- Understanding of the private sector and billing requirements
- Minimum two years coding experience
- Experience with the WebPAS patient information system
