Melbourne Pathology is one of Victoria’s largest diagnostic pathology laboratories, committed to providing high quality healthcare throughout metropolitan Melbourne, regional Victoria and interstate.

A Laboratory Assistant is required to join our Epworth Waurn Ponds Pathology laboratory. This laboratory performs testing within the disciplines of Haematology, Immunohaematology and Chemical Pathology, servicing the needs of a busy tertiary hospital with an active Emergency department, 24 hours a day, 7 days per week.

As a Laboratory Assistant you will undertake sample preparation under supervision, enter data into the laboratory information system and assist in maintaining the tidiness and functionality of the laboratory. You may also be required to pick up specimens from the hospital and attend to telephone enquiries.

Position requirements:

- The ability to work as part of a busy team
- Reliable and flexible
- Experience in a diagnostic laboratory, or currently studying for the Diploma of Laboratory Technology would be an advantage
- Excellent keyboard and data entry skills with high level of accuracy
- Understanding of and commitment to OH&S.
- Confirmation of your current residency and right to work in Australia
- The notice period you would require to commence employment
- COVID vaccination status.

The position will include working mainly Monday to Friday, and may include some weekends. Hours are predominantly day shift hours with some requirement to work evening shifts.
