Rental Technician
This is a full-time role based in our Artarmon office and is perfect for someone with an interest in film and TV production technology and who can provide excellence in customer service.
**What does a day look like as a rentals tech?**
Varied and dynamic. You’ll be answering customer enquiries, advising on equipment choices, quoting and taking bookings, preparing and checking gear, testing new ideas and more. Maybe you're out doing a delivery or on a production job providing tech support. Some days may be quieter but this is a dynamic environment and it can get busy quickly. You'll probably need to provide some technical support to a customer and you will certainly be preparing rentals documentation and ensuring 100% accuracy is maintained at all times.
**What do we do?**
We sell and rent video gear to some of the largest TV and film producers in the country, as well as to independent freelancers, broadcasters, and corporates. Unlike most rental houses, we can provide full production systems - we don't stop at the camera.
**Who is Videocraft?**
We are member of the Videocraft Group including Videocraft, Digistor and Adimex, and together we have an amazing and broad inventory of the best, up to the minute broadcast, cine, post production, storage and playout equipment. Our manufacturers include Sony, Panasonic, Canon, AWS Elemental, Avid, EVS and many more, and we have a team of focussed, talented people who care about delivering the best possible results to our clients.
**What’s our culture like?**
We are a knowledge based company and we love to share what we know within our team. It is a friendly environment with a genuine care for our staff and customers. And our standards are high as befits our customers - their show must go to air on time.
Who are we looking for? We are looking for someone with the following:
- genuine interest in technology and the curiosity to know more
- proven ability in customer facing roles - a hands-on role in rentals or operational environment in the video production industry or with a technology retailer would be a great advantage
- fitness and enthusiasm along with a desire to succeed
- ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
- technical aptitude and solid computer skills
- attention to detail is essential in every aspect of this role
- strong organisational and prioritising skills
- current clean driving licence
Recent experience in a similar role or recent relevant product knowledge would be a distinct advantage, although we will consider applicants who can demonstrate genuine passion and aptitude with video equipment and the industry.
If you believe you are up for the challenge and are prepared to work hard in a friendly team environment, we'd love to hear from you. Please outline your suitability in a cover letter.
