About the Role
The Fellowship in Stroke Medicine provides for sub-specialty training in hyperacute stroke management, as well as subacute and long-term stroke medicine.
The Fellow oversees the day-to-day operation of the Stroke unit and provides medical services to all patients presenting to the hospital, both inpatient and outpatient services within the designated stroke unit.
On request, the Fellow should provide a consultative service to other departments.
It is expected that the Fellow will be involved in the professional development of junior medical staff, clinical audits, research and in the education of medical students.
The Fellow will engage in supporting the research trial activity of the Stroke Unit including patient selection and follow up requirements.
The Fellow will engage in auditing and research activity within the Stroke Unit
Contribute to and gain experience in the after-hours on call roster for hyperacute stroke at a minimum of 1 night per week.
