We are seeking a casual Leisure & Lifestyle Assistant to join our Doutta Galla Avondale Heights Aged Care home.

**About Doutta Galla Avondale Heights**:
Doutta Galla Avondale Heights provides residential aged care in modern facilities with views over the Maribyrnong River parklands. We offer daily social group activities in our sunny living areas.

**About the role**:
The Leisure & Lifestyle Assistant will assist the Leisure & Lifestyle Coordinator to deliver a range of resident focussed programs through one on one and group activities. Key to this role is ensuring programs are implemented in a way that is inclusive and supports all residents.

Duties include:

- Assist develop and implement a wide variety of lifestyle, leisure and recreational programs
- Deliver a range of diverse and individualised recreational, spiritual, creative, cultural, physical and sporting activities
- Ensure programs are implemented in a way that is inclusive and supports all residents regardless of their physical and/or cognitive capacity
- Support resident involvement and participation (where they choose) in programs
- Support residents to exercise choice and independence
- Assist develop and implement suitable programs for residents with dementia or other cognitive illness, with an emphasis on implementation of diversional therapies

**About you**:
Ideally you will bring with you:

- Strong commitment and practical ability to implement inclusive lifestyle programs
- Highly developed interpersonal skills
- Knowledge and /or experience of lifestyle activities in an aged care setting
- Experience networking with community organisations to provide recreational and lifestyle enhancement activities for residents
- Certificate IV in Lifestyle & Health will be highly regarded
