- Flexible work arrangements may be considered, including flexible work schedules, start and finish times, and/or work from home arrangements

The Department of Critical Indigenous Studies is seeking an Associate Lecturer for a teaching position in Critical Indigenous Studies. This is an exciting opportunity for an early career academic enthusiastic about Indigenous studies and research to join a dynamic award-winning team of Indigenous researchers.

The successful applicant will be an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person enrolled in a PhD program, or on the PhD MRES Pathway. Experience working in academia is desirable but not essential.

The Department of Critical Indigenous Studies within the Faculty of Arts is an Indigenous led department comprising of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander academics, researchers and professional staff. Reflecting our global focus, we also include Indigenous people from overseas. We have a shared vision as outlined in our research agenda for the Centre for Global Indigenous Futures and we work closely together to bring that vision to fruition. The Department of Critical Indigenous Studies produces critical insights into the politics, cultures and social practices of Indigenous peoples. We are committed to principles of equity, justice and diversity. Our research prioritises Indigenous ways of knowing, doing and being, drawing on non-Western epistemologies and ontologies. Essential- Be an Aboriginal and or Torres Strait Islander person. _Aboriginality is a genuine occupational qualification for these positions and is authorised under section 14(d) of the NSW Anti-Discrimination Act 1977_- Be enrolled in a PhD, or in a PhD Pathway (such as MRES) in relevant discipline and demonstrated capacity to complete such study within three years.- A demonstrated knowledge of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander values, perspectives, connections and knowledges that will contribute to an academic environment from Aboriginal and or Torres Strait Islander standpoints.- Proven record of work with and for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities demonstrating good relations- Masters qualification- Commitment to the delivery of high-quality teaching, including the preparation of teaching and course material, delivering lectures and tutoring.
