**About the Opportunity**:
Cessnock City Council has a rare opportunity for an experienced individual to join us as a Library Officer specialising in providing and delivering high quality programs and events, information and reader's advisory services for senior citizens.

This dynamic role is responsible for taking the lead in planning, developing, promoting and delivering engaging library programs and events tailored specifically for seniors in line with the Library's strategic objectives, igniting their passion for literacy, creativity and lifelong learning and recreational activities while also building social connections within the community. Collaboration will be at the heart of your work in this role as you plan and deliver an annual calendar of events, programs, outreach activities and talks in consultation with community groups and relevant staff, ensuring each activity is effectively promoted. At a higher level, you will maintain awareness of current trends, issues and technologies to ensure services remain relevant to the target audience as well as analysing statistics and participant feedback to implement new ideas and strategies and improve and enhance offered services to maximise community engagement.

**Remuneration**:
$40.37 - $46.74 per hour plus superannuation

- Part Time, 21 hours per week across both Cessnock and Kurri Kurri Library branches and is inclusive of outreach within the LGA. The position holder will also participate in the weeknight and Saturday Library roster.

**About You**:
To be considered for this position you will hold a Diploma in Library and Information Services or an equivalent Diploma level qualification with eligibility for professional membership to Australian Library and Information Association. You will bring along a minimum of 3 years' experience working in a public library and a passion for the development, delivery and evaluation of senior citizen programs. You will need to hold a current class C drivers licence.

You must hold, or be willing to obtain, the following:

- Current and valid paid Working with Children Check (required prior to commencement)
- First Aid Certificate (required within 12 months of commencement)
- Justice of the Peace (required within 12 months of commencement)
