We have an exciting new opportunity for a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) to join our dynamic Structural Heart and Aortic operating unit. Our Structural Heart and Aortic operating unit offer mínimally invasive approaches to restore the heart and aorta's proper structure and function. We focus on the transcatheter replacement or repair of the four heart valves—aortic, pulmonic, mitral, and tricuspid—and stent graft placement to treat aneurysm dissections of the body's largest artery, the aorta.

**A Day in the Life
**As the MSL, you will report directly to the Global Senior Director of Medical Science Structural Heart, with a matrix reporting structure to the Clinical Research Director in ANZ and ANZ Regional Director for the Structural Heart and Aortic in Australia. You can work anywhere from Australia, but our preference is either Sydney or Melbourne, with travel requirements across Australia and New Zealand ( ANZ).

Key responsibilities include:

- Provide medical and scientific information to internal and external stakeholders (KOLs/HCPs, authorities, clinical research teams) to ensure medical science objectives are realized, and Medtronic’s image is well supported in the marketplace whilst maintaining ethics and company standards.
- Supporting and training the commercial team with the off-label interactions and ensuring alignment with the policy and associated procedures.
- Representing Medtronic at society partnerships and advisory boards by participating in clinical discussions and providing scientific expertise.
- Developing and fostering relationships with KOL -established and emerging to purposefully align the business to increase market access and develop opportunities to aid in the education of other Health Care Professionals (HCPs) as directed.
- Engaging in in-depth, unbiased and non-promotional discussions with HCPs about recent clinical trials and overall clinical evidence summaries.
- Help support and host local Advisory board meetings
- Help support the external research program and align with global clinical strategy.
- Act as a conduit between the global team and the ANZ team to ensure that medical and scientific objective value propositions are developed and articulated for Medtronic technologies through appropriate channels.
- Developing and providing scientific materials in collaboration with the marketing team for product launches
- Collaborate closely with the R&D and Regulatory Affairs to review and approve device risk file documentation and provides medical/scientific expertise during interactions with regulatory bodies
- Provide business support through product presentations where requested
- Perform company business in accordance with applicable regulations/legislations (e.g.: ISO 14155, GCP, TGA, Australia code of conduct etc.)
- An understanding of the reimbursement/regulatory framework in Australia and New Zealand (TGA, PL, Medsafe, etc)

**Must Haves**
- MD and/or PHD and/or Master’s degree in Medical/ Biological/Sciences/Pharmacy and/or Engineering and/or Cath Lab nurse
- A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in an MSL related role within the Medical Device or Pharmaceutical industry
- Excellent oral and written English communication skills required
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required: ability to understand and respond to multiple internal and external customers and influence at all levels internally within the organization and externally with KOLs and HCPs
- Well organized, structured and detail oriented with the ability to anticipate needs and to work proactively to prioritize & address/resolve
- Change oriented, comfortable responding to unexpected demands with tight timelines, team player
- Generalist with a positive attitude to take on challenges as opportunities
- Proven expertise in problem-solving and navigating complex customer bases and complex scenarios
- Previous people management experience
- Be willing to travel up to 75% of the time in the home state and across ANZ

**Nice to Have**
- A postgraduate qualification is highly regarded
- Background, knowledge or experience in Structural Heart or Pharmaceutical Industry
- Clinical trial management experience
- Project management experience
