**ABOUT THE ROLE**

This role is a Permanent position on **9-day fortnight** at our **Worsley Alumina Refinery**, which is a short drive from Collie (15 minutes), Bunbury (45 minutes) and other nearby scenic communities.

As the **Superintendent Design Services**your role is to lead effective management and delivery of Engineering Design Services across the Worsley Operation including Capital project front-end loading to ensure effective Capital portfolio delivery.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Leads the Design Services team including development, engagement, vision, performance and results of team members.
- Designs plant and equipment and manages the design risks.
- Provides Design process guidance and training to South32 employees and contractors to the South32.
- Implements improved design techniques and solutions to support operations (3D blueprint, Engineering Data Warehouse).
- To ensure that systems, processes and governance for document and records management are instituted and fit-for-purpose for the Operation.
- Promote operational discipline and high performance in work execution and enhance the technical knowledge of team members.

**ABOUT YOU**

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

- Technical: Expert/Professional that has guided, developed and influenced practice in the Engineering function with a minimum of 5 years’ experience. Requires detailed knowledge of theories and practices related to Design.
- Leadership: Team leadership role that managed 15-20 specialists or professionals with a minimum of 5 years’ experience
- Operational: Managed projects. Had responsibility for budgets at a work team level. Financial principles and business value understanding.
- Stakeholder engagement: Collaboration and influenced/agreed solutions with internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-discipline team.

**Qualifications for this position are**:

- Relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering
