**Job Description**:
Our Wide World of Sports team is looking for an Afternoon Editor to lead editorial staff and write and publish stories.

Day to day you will:

- Editorial decision making (which stories to prioritise)
- Managing/mentoring junior staff
- Assigning stories
- Sub-editing
- Writing/publishing stories

Please note this position requires shift / roster work. The shifts are generally 12-8pm with some later shifts (3-11pm at least one night a week). There is some weekend work required.

**Qualifications**:
This is a senior role, and we are looking for someone with the below experience:

- Proven experience in media
- A passion for sport and preferably strong knowledge and/or background in either NRL, tennis, cricket, AFL, motorsport or combat sports
- You will be a leader, capable of setting an example and mentoring junior staff
- Must be a strong writer and storyteller with a good eye for an angle that will work for a large digital audience and possess the ability to craft an engaging headline
- You will have knowledge of SEO and an ability to use social media and other tools to promote WWOS content
- An understanding of how to tell a story with video at its heart is key
- A background in digital media and experience using a CMS is required
