Instrument Technician Grade 3

Your Role at St John of God Health Care Berwick Hospital
The Grade 3 Instrument Technician performs a senior role in CSSD. They are expected to carry out all the duties of the Grade 2 Instrument tech (processing, autoclaving and distributing sterile supplies to all internal and external customers) with high degree of autonomy and accountability. In addition the Grade 3 instrument technician is required to actively assist in staff training, supervising, mentoring and performance management.

The Position- Responsible for processing, autoclaving and distributing sterile supplies to all internal and external customers.- Liaise with all staff in the Operating Suite to assist with the provision of individual holistic care to ensure the highest standard of safe and skilled practice is provided which is consistent with the established objectives of the Nursing Department.- Deputise for the CSSD Manager and provide holiday relief, with the support and assistance of the Operating Suite NUM.- Able to become an integral member of a nursing team to provide optimal patient care for all patients at St John of God Healthcare Berwick, their families and significant others.

You will have Certificate lll in Health - Sterilising Practice for Technicians and hold a Mayfield Certificate or similar experience in and Operating Suite.

To succeed, you will have understanding of legislation and standards related to OH&S, Compliance issues, Infection Control, and WorkCover.
