**Position Information**:
Illaroo Road Public School, North Nowra, is a South Coast school situated on the northern side of the Shoalhaven River. We are well known in our community for our academic, extracurricular and student focused programs: achievements embodied in the motto “Reach for the Sky”. This is the result of the outstanding work ethic of our staff who engage collaboratively across the whole school to ensure each student achieves at their potential and is known, valued and cared for. We have a focus on individualised and whole staff professional learning with literacy and numeracy specialists working alongside classroom teachers, learning and support teachers and executive staff. Collaborative strategic planning between staff, students and the school community underpins our progressive strategic directions. The school has high expectations for the development and delivery of explicit and evidence-based teaching practices to support and develop all students in an inclusive and dynamic learning environment. We have an enrolment of 532 students, including 73 Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander students, 2 opportunity classes and 3 autism classes. Illaroo Road Public School demonstrates strong participation in sporting and performing arts events in addition to a wide variety of extracurricular opportunities.
**Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary:
- Demonstrated ability to ensure high expectations drive continuous improvement through exemplary planning and evaluation processes.
- A highly visible, approachable and collaborative leader with the ability to support and collaborate with beginning and experienced staff.
- Capacity to lead, manage and support wellbeing practices and processes resulting in enhanced student engagement and positive community partnerships
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
- 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs- 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams- 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents- 5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning- 6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies**Conditions**:
