At Transgrid, we are building our**Control Centre capability to strengthen the resilience of Australia’s high-voltage transmission network. We are seeking a Real-time System Operations Specialist**to join our System Resilience team and play a pivotal role in delivering operational technology solutions that will support our control centre well beyond 2031.

**About the role**

**Reporting to the Future Control Centre Manager, this role will bring real world control centre experience into a range of projects, ensuring operational requirements are embedded in technical solutions. From 2026, the position will transition into a product leadership role, managing a small team that deliver value directly to control room operators.

**What you’ll do**
- Lead and support initiatives including a major SCADA/EMS upgrade
- Translate operational needs into robust technical requirements
- Conduct user acceptance testing, defect resolution and validation of solutions
- Collaborate with technical and operational teams to optimise system design
- Identify and deliver quick wins to improve control room operations by 2026
- Act as delegate for the Future Control Centre Manager when required
- Drive continuous improvement, cultural change and customer-focused outcomes

**What you’ll bring**
- Proven experience in control centre operations (energy or utilities sector preferred)
- Strong knowledge of operational technology systems in real-time environments
- Understanding of HV transmission networks, control, protection and communication systems
- Experience in user acceptance testing, SCADA systems, and fault finding
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate across engineering, IT, and project teams
- Leadership or coordination experience, with the ability to guide small teams
- Resilience, adaptability, and problem-solving skills in dynamic environments
