**About the Role**:
We are currently seeking a Superintendent Safety Business Partnering within the WA Iron Ore HSE team. Reporting to the Manager HSE Mining, this is a unique opportunity to lead a diverse and inclusive team. You will provide functional leadership, coaching, strategic and expert advice on Safety and related matters in pursuit of our purpose to deliver HSE Excellence.

This role is a Mon - Fri Perth based role, which will require regular travel to our WA sites. Those in pursuit of flexible work arrangements are encouraged to apply.

In this role you will:

- Provide leadership for a team of high performing and capable Safety professionals and be an active contributor to the HSE Leadership team across the WAIO Mines
- Contribute the ongoing development of excellent team culture while embodying the BHP Charter and BHP Code of Conduct.
- Build capability within the operational leaders to enable them to create the desired health, safety and environment culture, and enact their HSE risk management and compliance requirements
- Identify, prioritise and implement required HSE strategies and initiates to support successful operational outcomes
- Govern and maintain the design and implementation of HSE standards, procedures and systems
- Define and track adherence to, and efficiencies in, own team budget
- Work collaboratively with other HSE teams to improve HSE delivery and risk management across the Asset

**About You**:
To be successful in this role, you will have a proven passion for safety and a culture of care. You will also have:

- Experience in leading teams;
- Passion for creating an engaging, supportive & inspiring culture;
- Experience working within Mining or Minerals Processing industries, with site experience preferred.
- Tertiary qualifications in health, safety, environment or related discipline such as science or business;
- Flexibility and willingness to travel to sites across the WAIO portfolio
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to influence at multiple levels in HSE, with both internal and external parties;
- A proven ability to develop and implement strategic and tactical plans;
- An advanced understanding of Resources HSE standards and systems, as well as relevant WA legislation
