This is a full-time position commencing at the beginning of Term 1, 2025.

Class teachers at Linuwel Steiner School ideally stay with their class until the end of Class 6.

**Our School**

Linuwel is a K-12 school and preschool for Steiner education with approximately 250 students in K-12. It is situated in a semi-rural setting on Wonnarua country in the Hunter Valley, surrounded by farmland and historic towns and villages, close to Newcastle and an hour from Nelson Bay. Linuwel is committed to supporting reconciliation, inclusivity, restorative practice, and working out of best practice by maintaining the core principles of Steiner education while incorporating current educational research. **Role Description**

We are looking for a committed teacher who can develop strong relationships with children and their families; a dynamic, nurturing and collaborative teacher; a person with understanding of the soul-spiritual development of the child as well as ways of working needed to deliver a spirit-led education for children aged 6-7 years.

**Essential criteria**
- Accreditation with NESA and compliance with child protection requirements_, _including a current WWCC.

**Desirable skills and attributes**
- Prior experience working in a Steiner / Waldorf school
- Demonstrated successful experience in foundational literacy and numeracy instruction, and the ability to adapt this to our context
- Demonstrated experience designing, delivering and assessing quality teaching programs in all curriculum areas
- Demonstrated experience making adjustments for a wide range of learners.
- The capacity to align teaching practices to Steiner’s understanding of child development, and work with both the Steiner curriculum and the NSW curriculum
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to plan and manage multiple tasks effectively
- Dedication to ongoing professional development and a commitment to lifelong learning
