**About the role**

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate safety and wellbeing professional to manage and oversee the agency workplace health, safety and wellbeing programs and initiatives.

Reporting to the Manager People Safety & Wellbeing, key responsibilities of this role include (but are not limited to):

- Lead, promote and actively engage with all staff to drive a 'safety first' culture including the delivery of initiatives that focus on enhancing employee health and wellbeing outcomes to create a strong employee value proposition work environment.
- Implement our work, health and safety strategic plan for the agency and monitor and report on plan implementation and WHS performance metrics to inform senior management on agency trends and risks.
- Lead the delivery of the agency’s WHS Audit Report through building productive, collaborative, and cooperative relationships internally and through a wide variety of external stakeholders and service providers to encourage innovation and ensure best practice safety management systems and approaches are in place.
- Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, to build strong stakeholder relationships and engagement to monitor WHS principles across the agency and to facilitate workforce training, guide managers and implement the WHS framework consistently across the agency.
- Work collaboratively with the business in proactively managing their WHS risk and provide expert advice and recommendations to assist in ensuring controls measures are effective and in place.
- Coordinate safety investigations, identifying contributing factors to failures and incidents within the agency and across all regional hubs.
- Lead and participate in quantitative and qualitative research to identify emerging issues, develop evidence-based options and solutions and mitigate risk and to support in the preparation of correspondence, reports, and briefs, that are informative and aligned with agency requirements.
