**FULL TIME Childcare Room Leader**

This role is responsible for the supervision and coordination of children and staff within the Pre-School Room

**Responsibilities**
- To develop, implement and document an Educational program/curriculum for children
- To provide a safe and stimulating environment for children
- To care for the day to day needs of children
- Responsible for the guidance, support, direction and general supervision of staff, students and volunteers working within the room.
- To delegate required tasks to staff
- Programming for the group
- Organising equipment and materials for the group’s planned daily activities.
- Observing children’s behaviour and guiding their social development
- In compliance with the centre and safety policy, ensure a safe and hygienic environment is maintained at all times for staff and children, with particular attention to children with any conditions or special requirements.
- Ensure that accurate records and reports are kept in regards to accident, incident, injury, illness and medication.
- Ensure staff is aware of current thinking and practice in early childhood education, and service delivery.
- Liaise with families in regards to the day to day happenings of the room and child’s progress in encouraging centre relationships with families
- Co-operate and communicate effectively with parents about their child-care needs.
- Promote and maintain positive working relationships with other staff.
- Actively support and co-operate with other staff in their child-care duties.
- Maintain observations and records of individual children’s progress, particularly those identified through staff observation

**QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE**
- This position requires a relevant Australian diploma level qualification or equivalent.
- 3 years demonstrated experience in a similar role is important for this position.
- A working with children check and clear character record is also required for this role.

**Salary**: $70,000.00 - $72,000.00 per year
