**About us**

The Office of the General Counsel (OGC) is responsible for providing in-house legal services across the Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS) and to the Attorney-General, as First Law Officer, and multiple other Ministers.

The team leads the delivery of legal services on commercial and regulatory matters for DJCS. OGC is looking for an experienced manager with strong technical legal skills, stakeholder management skills and leadership qualities to co-manage the team.

**About you**

We are looking for an experienced lawyer who can manage a team that delivers sophisticated, authoritative, concise, and solutions-focused advice in commercial and regulatory matters. Key accountabilities include:

- Providing solutions-based legal advice on issues relevant to the government, ministers and the department, both individually and as a leader of a team of solicitors.
- Managing multiple complex and sensitive matters for various clients across the whole of DJCS.
- Supporting and working collaboratively with the executive and leadership team.
- Developing strong relationships with other DJCS groups as well as other departments, agencies, external law firms and stakeholders.
- Applicants must be admitted, or eligible to be admitted, to practice as a legal practitioner in Victoria.

Therefore, there is a requirement that all DJCS employees be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 in order to undertake duties outside of their homes.

At interview stage and prior to commencement of employment with the department, you will need to provide evidence that you are vaccinated against COVID-19 with three doses of a COVID-19 vaccine.

Upon commencement of employment with the department you will be required to provide evidence that you have an up-to-date vaccination status within the timelines specified by the department into the DJCS Service Portal. This includes evidence of three doses of a COVID-19 vaccine required by the department (from time to time).

Acceptable evidence includes:

- COVID-19 digital certificate (available via your myGov account)
- Your immunisation history statement (available via your myGov account)

Other documentation outside the above will not be accepted as evidence of having received your COVID-19 vaccine doses.
