**About the Role**

The Cloud Environment Lead, part of Transport Digital Solutions and Service Management, oversees the implementation, management, and operation of cloud services. This role involves collaborating with delivery and vendor teams to ensure services meet business needs while adhering to security, government, regulatory, and compliance standards.

As a technical leader, you will provide expert guidance and recommendations to maintain cloud environments that are fit for purpose. Partnering with business and delivery stakeholders, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing and optimising services hosted within the Department’s public cloud platforms.

**Position Outcomes / Accountabilities**

**Quality Cloud Solutions Delivery**
- Collaborated with stakeholders to design and deliver secure, scalable, and high-performing cloud solutions tailored to business needs.
- Proactively managed the lifecycle of cloud resources, leveraging automation and innovation to drive operational efficiency and maintain a modern, optimised environment.

**Strategic Vendor and Stakeholder Collaboration**
- Partnered with managed service providers and internal stakeholders to develop and execute strategic roadmaps that enhance cloud services.
- Ensured compliance with security, government, and regulatory standards while prioritising long-term improvements and adopting security best practices.

**Pipeline and Process Optimisation**
- Implemented best practices for Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment (CI/CD), and delivery pipelines to streamline cloud operations.
- Focused on automating routine tasks and improving processes to enhance team productivity and efficiency.

**Scalability, Automation, and Innovation**
- Drove the adoption of scalable solutions, innovative tools, and automation frameworks.

The Department of Transport and Planning is seeking an experienced Cloud Environment Lead to oversee the management, implementation, and optimisation of cloud services. This role is pivotal in ensuring the Department’s cloud environments are secure, compliant, and aligned with organisational goals.
As a key leader within Transport Digital Solutions and Service Management, you will collaborate with delivery and vendor teams to drive innovation, enhance service quality, and deliver solutions that exceed stakeholder expectations. Your ability to think strategically, manage complex projects, and embed continuous improvement practices will ensure cloud services effectively support wider organisational and community outcomes.

**Qualifications and Experience**
**Mandatory**
- A relevant tertiary qualification in information management, computer science, cloud computing, or a related field, or equivalent industry-recognised certifications.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience managing and optimising enterprise public cloud environments, including experience in implementing security and compliance measures.

**Desirable**
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate/Professional) or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer.
- Microsoft Azure certification (e.g., Azure Administrator, Azure Solutions Architect, or equivalent).
