Seamsperson

The Role

Ventia are currently looking to engage a fulltime Seamsperson for the National Clothes Store Services contract at the Amberley RAAF Base in Queensland. The Seamsperson contributes to the provision of effective and efficient Clothing Stores Service delivery.

Primary Responsibilities

Measure and fit customers for clothing items.

Perform seamsperson duties of sewing of rank, insignia and badges.

Basic sewing tasks of hemming, ironing and basic alterations and medal mounting.

Handle cash and reconcile cash transactions.

Manual handling using various methods.

Accept returned items and inspect returned items for serviceability and re-issue.

Maintain stock movement records.

Responsible for housekeeping in own work environment.

Continually encourage improvement and innovation.

Comply with all company policies on WHS, Risk and Environment.

Keyboard skills / data entry.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Experience in measuring and fitting clothing items.

Experience in clothing store operations and altering clothing items.

Experience in scheduling workloads and meeting production deadlines.

Experience in direct customer support.

MILIS / PIMS / DTP experience an advantage.

Work in a team environment and / or under routine supervision.

You must be an Australian citizen and able to maintain a Department of Defence Security Clearance
