About the opportunity:
The Maintenance Officer will report to the Service Manager and will be responsible for on-going repairs and preventative maintenance of building, plant, equipment and furniture. You will also assist with identifying and actioning health and safety issues to provide a safe environment for residents, staff and visitors. The main purpose of this role is to ensure the safety and upkeep of the Aged Care Facility by undertaking a variety of maintenance tasks in a timely and highly competent manner.- Responsible for on-going repairs and preventative maintenance of building, plant, equipment and furniture.- Liaising with contractors- Identifying and reporting areas for improvement- Assist with identifying and actioning health and safety issues to provide a safe environment for residents, staff and visitors.

- Excellent time management, organisational and communication skills, with the ability to adapt and problem solve.- A compassionate, flexible and positive approach.- The ability to nurture friendly, respectful relationships and contribute to a collaborative team environment- Previous maintenance experience - Trade background/qualifications preferred but not essential.- Previous experience in Aged Care or hotel environment would be advantageous- Ability to work independently and as part of the local team- Proficient computer skills, prior experience working with a computer based maintenance system will be advantageous- Working knowledge of Work Health and Safety standards and regulatory maintenance frameworks relating to residential aged care.- Experience in managing contractors, WHS/OH&S compliance, Site inductions, understanding of HVAC systems, Essential services, Building 9C regulations, etc.

You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:
- A current Police Record Check- Trade based qualification or more than 3 years’ experience in a commercial maintenance position.- Current driver’s licence.- Proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders.
