The Deputy Manager, Court Transcription Services provides operational leadership for the delivery of remote and in-court monitoring, as well as out-of-court transcription services across all participating courts and tribunals within the Courts Administration Authority. This role ensures the accurate and timely provision of court transcripts to the judiciary, legal professionals, and self-represented individuals. Responsible for managing a city-based team of court and audio reporters, the Deputy Manager oversees their daily operations, training, and development. A key focus of the role is leading and implementing change, particularly in relation to transcription technologies.
Reporting to the Manager, Court Transcription Services, the Deputy Manager plays a vital role in fostering a positive team culture, driving staff engagement, and contributing to the achievement of core business objectives and service standards.
**Selection Criteria**:
- Proven experience in leading and managing operational teams, preferably in a legal, transcription, or court services environment.
- Ability to oversee day-to-day operations and ensure service delivery standards are met.
- Demonstrated ability to manage, train, and develop staff.
- Experience fostering a positive and engaged team culture.
- Experience in managing and implementing change, particularly involving new technologies or systems.
- Ability to lead teams through transitions effectively.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including judiciary and legal professionals.
- Ability to contribute to broader management goals and support the achievement of organisational objectives.
**Special Conditions**:
- Appointment is under the Courts Administration Act 1993. Terms and Conditions of employment are governed by the Public Sector Act 2009.
- Appointment is dependent upon a current National Police Certificate that the CAA finds satisfactory.
- As a justice agency, the CAA may receive details of spent convictions as part of any Criminal History Screening and use this information in the selection process
- May be required to work in any CBD or metropolitan location either on a temporary or ongoing basis and undertake intra or interstate travel which may necessitate overnight absences.
**Remuneration**:
ASO7 ($104,938 - $113,435 per annum)
