**About the centre**

YMCA Lightning Reef Early Learning Centre is a 115 place Long Day Care service, which also offers sessional kindergarten. We are committed to building strong relationships with our families, and understanding and supporting the complex needs of both the children and families attending our service.

We empower our staff to make a positive impact on our families by providing comprehensive support and resources such as the below:

- An onsite TraCs Child and Family consultant working with our staff to deliver trauma informed practice
- Regular visits from Speech Therapists, OT’s & Psychologists where we see the direct positive impact this has on our children
- Ongoing professional development for our Educators to support their understanding about how trauma can impact development and wellbeing

**About the role**

You will experience specialist support from a diverse and caring team, as you drive community and family engagement, with children at the heart of your service philosophy.

The role of Room Leader role will involve:

- Leading, managing, and motivating appointed room staff to achieve the objectives of the Centre and support staff in their development
- Assisting with the mentoring of permanent and casual employees
- Following an approved curriculum, where you will be a role modelling for children in developing lifelong skills and instilling in them a passion for learning
- Making lessons captivating and enjoyable for individuals and small groups of children
- Delivering consistent high-quality practice of the National Quality Framework
- Ensuring that records are maintained accurately for each child in care

This is a full time opportunity with an above award rate.

**Qualifications required**
- Diploma or equivalent qualifications in Early Childhood / Children’s Services or equivalent
- First Aid and CPR certification
- Anaphylaxis and Asthma certification
- Working with Children Card
