**About the role**
The Yarra Ranges Ophthalmology Department provides cataract surgery to the every expanding Outer East population. The team work in a collbaorative way with our patients to determine the best surgical approach to manage their condition. The Othoptist is a pivotal role in ensuring patients are assesed, diagnosed and managed in a timely manner.
**About you**
To be successful in this role you will possess:
- Bachelor of Orthoptic & Ophthalmic Sciences Degree, or equivalent,
- Minimum 5 years post graduate experience in line with the requirements of a Grade 2 Position.
- Ability to analyse, interpret and report on information, and provide recommendations.
- Proven ability to work independently and effectively with a variety of situations, individuals, or groups.
- Knowledge of recent clinical practices in orthoptics, and experience in working with vision impaired patients.
- Computer proficiency
- Highly developed interpersonal and leadership experience
- A strong commitment to high quality care
- The ability to work as part of a diverse team
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
