Bechtel is providing a wide variety project and contract management services, crossing all disciplines, to customers in Western Australia to support exciting capital works programmes, including in aviation, defence and energy infrastructure. We are looking for people to join us in a long-term relationship to deliver these services in and around Perth where we are working within integrated teams with our customers and to help build Bechtel’s capabilities for even greater opportunities in the future.

**Job Summary**:
In this role, you will conduct field investigations and client interviews to determine work scope and cost estimates for a project’s electrical engineering aspects. You will lead design, development, modification, and evaluation of electrical components and processes. Your recommendations will resolve technical issues and ensure uniquely complex requirements of a project’s electrical engineering aspects are met.

**Major Responsibilities**:

- Leads the design, development, modification and evaluation of components and processes used in the generation, manipulation, transmission, and storage of electricity utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards and guides, and Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs)
- Communicates complex technical issues and recommends solutions to upper management
- Develops conceptual designs for electrical engineering projects or projects having specialized or unique requirements
- Supports preparation of estimates, staffing needs and schedules
- Prepares or oversees the preparation of discipline estimates and work plan in accordance with project scope, schedule and budget, and supports implementation and assists with performance reporting
- Interprets new or special regulations, codes, standards, criteria, and performance data
- Coordinates with client representatives, as directed, to obtain their approval of electrical aspects of the work
- Mentors electrical engineering personnel by providing on-the-job training for their professional development
- Provides input to and participates in special technical educational and training programs as directed

**Education and Experience Requirements**:

- Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience

**Required Knowledge and Skills**:

- Thorough knowledge of engineering techniques, design of engineered systems, and engineering and design calculations
- Knowledge of Aviation related industry/regulatory codes and standards and design criteria pertinent to the particular discipline
