The Maintenance Tradesperson is an additional resource in the Property team to cope with our vigorous growth phase.

**About the role**

The Maintenance Tradesperson/Handyman reports to the General Manager Property.

Main responsibilities:

- Respond promptly to requests for maintenance support from the Centres across Melbourne
- Identify the problems (trouble shooting) and the required solution prior to travelling to the Centres wherever possible
- Undertake repairs within scope of capabilities eg repair of playground equipment, identification and rectification of leaks, breakages, damage to walls etc
- Coordinate works with external suppliers as requested by General Manager Property
- Take ownership of safety and presentation of Centres and step up to do what is required to uphold standards eg mowing, pruning, painting etc
- Be willing to work around the daily activities of a childcare centre, ensuring safety issues a priority
- Work with Property Coordinator to undertake routine maintenance of facilities or equipment
- Assist with new centre fit outs eg construction and assembly of furniture, play equipment and fittings when required
- Provide excellent customer service through a professional, friendly attitude
- Build effective relationships and have strong communications lines with all stakeholders including internal and external
- Prioritise issues based on severity and nature

**Skills Required**:

- At least 5 years experience in a general building trade or handyman role
- Formal carpentry qualifications useful but not essential
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills and customer service orientation
- A high attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent safety record and ability to work in an environment with children nearby
- Drivers license
