Your Role

This role, located at Evansdale, will see you supervising and mentoring permanent and casual staff, ensuring they meet operational requirements on their newly developed 150-ha premium grape vineyard (grower, not producer) located just outside of Launceston, TAS.

In this newly created position, you will be working closely with the Vineyard Manager and occasionally assisting with farming activities on one of their already-established vineyards situated on the Pipers River.

Your duties will include but not be limited to:
Develop effective communication with all employees and contractors to enhance collaboration and teamwork

Seek productivity gains and innovations that lead to improved reliability and efficiencies across all aspects of the vineyard

Assist in planning, management and recording keeping

Assist in the development of this new vineyard to commercial standards

Manage resources, including water, to ensure that day-to-day operations are carried out effectively and efficiently, and that any potential issues are identified and addressed promptly.

Liaise with key service providers to meet company requirements

Supervise on-farm staff members and casual labour, ensuring a safe working environment in accordance with OH&S guidelines, and providing training and support where necessary to help employees perform their roles effectively.

About You

Playing a pivotal role in the long-term commercial success of the vineyard, we are looking for an ambitious individual with a passion for the viticulture and development space.

You will be provided with all the tools and appropriate additional training to succeed in your role as the Vineyard Supervisor.

To be considered for this role, it's important you can address the following criteria:
3+ years of experience in vineyard operations or similar

Relevant qualifications in viticulture (preferred)

Valid driver's license

Strong people management skills, including team building and coaching

Adaptability and flexibility in response to changing and evolving work environments and requirements

Ability to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in vineyard operations

A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
