**About the Company**

Austco Polar Cold Storage (APCS) is an export company that provides blast freezing, storage and export handling services predominately to the meat industry. The APCS site in Laverton is export accredited to key destinations including China, EU, Japan, Korea, Middle East, and USA.

APCS is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician for a full-time position with occasional overtime availability and optional weekend work based in Laverton North, Melbourne.

Please note, you must be eligible to work in Australia to be considered for this role.

As an APCS Maintenance Technician, you are responsible for the upkeep, troubleshooting, and repair of all cold storage equipment and systems. This role involves performing routine maintenance, responding to breakdowns, and ensuring that all cold storage areas are operating efficiently and safely. The technician will work closely with other maintenance staff, operations personnel, and external contractors as needed.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Quickly and accurately identify issues in cold storage systems and implement solutions to minimise downtime.
- Use diagnostic tools and software to pinpoint problems and ensure correct functioning of systems.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, including OSHA and HACCP standards.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs.
- Ensure that all equipment and systems comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and log performance data to anticipate potential issues before they become problems.

**Attributes & Qualifications**
- Strong overall mechanical aptitude.
- Experience using a range of hand and power tools.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and maintenance software.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team, or unsupervised.
- Ability to work in cold environments for extended period.
- Knowledge of refrigeration systems, electrical systems, and mechanical components would be advantageous.
- EWP, working at heights and/or forklift license preferred but not essential.

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability
