The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a **Supervisor - Finance** to provide a critical role a Hopkins Correctional Centre.
**About the Business Unit**
This position is based at Hopkins Correctional Centre in Ararat in regional Victoria. Hopkins Correctional Centre is a medium security prison located in Western Victoria housing up to 798 people. The prison takes a multi-disciplinary approach that promotes active participation in activities structured to assist with rehabilitation and reintegration back to community at end of sentence.
**About the Role**
The Finance Supervisor is responsible for ensuring best-practice financial, procurement and prison stores processes. The position will provide detailed financial analysis, monitoring and reporting advice to the Prison Services Manager, and business unit managers for allocated cost centres. The position will also be responsible for supporting the Hopkins Correctional Centre annual budget development cycle and stores stocktaking cycle/s.
The position will also include supervising and leading a team in the delivery of all finance and stores functions at Hopkins Correctional Centre.
Some of your duties will include:
- Supervise and lead a small team in the delivery of all finance and stores related functions at Hopkins Correctional Centre; plan and prioritise the team's workload, ensuring effective and efficient operations.
- Implement best-practice financial, procurement, contract management and stores processes.
- Provide tailored financial and procurement reporting, analysis, advice, and support to a broad range of business unit managers.

**About you**
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Demonstrated experience in financial management, in particular analysis and reporting, and utilisation of financial management systems.
- Demonstrated experience in compiling performance reports and improving processes and systems to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulations.
**Qualifications/requirements**
- A qualification in Commerce or Accounting is desirable.
