**About the Centre/Service**

We are a beautiful, not for profit 27 place community occasional care centre, with a rich history of delivering quality education and care to children and their families. We cater for children aged from 12 months to 6 years (school-aged) in a multi-aged environment. A volunteer parent committee governs the centre’s operations, in collaboration with the Centre Director to ensure the successful running of the centre. We provide an open-ended play-based learning environment, with a strong focus on natural elements. We create an environment with many opportunities for children to discover and explore through play in an unhurried and relaxed manner. Our team of educators focus on creating close and trusting relationships with our families and community, and we are seeking passionate, enthusiastic, reliable and like-minded educators to join our team.

An exciting opportunity exists to join a lovely Community Occasional Care Service as a Casual Educator. This fulfilling role provides high-quality care and education for children from 12 months to school age Monday to Friday in a mixed-aged environment. This is a fantastic opportunity for you to share your skills and commitment to Early Childhood Education while working in partnership with families to encourage positive outcomes for children. **Core duties include**:

- Support the program by contributing to a range of planning and documentation practices within the program.
- Supervise spontaneous and/or planned experiences when working with small groups of children in our indoor and outdoor learning environments.
- Engage in reflective practice when creating routines and engaging learning spaces in collaboration with the teacher for the children and families
- Actively contribute to establishing a collaborative culture where teamwork and respect for each other is paramount.
- Engage in intentional teaching with the children, to scaffold & extend on their learning and development.
- Write and take observations to assist in the development of the educational program & assessments of learning.

**About You**:

- You will be creative, flexible, enthusiastic and have the ability to use your initiative within a small team.
- You will hold an ACECQA approved Diploma level Qualification in Children’s Services
- You will have an understanding of both the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Standards (NQS)
- You will have a strong commitment to child safety and the child safe standards
- You possess strong verbal and written communication skills
- You enjoy working within a small team
- You can be a new graduate, or come with a wealth of experience

**Qualifications**
- Early Childhood Qualification (Diploma level - can be working towards)
- Current & Valid Working With Children Check (WWCC)
- Police Check / Criminal History Check (no more than 6 months old)
- First Aid / Asthma / Anaphylaxis Certificates
- Mandatory Reporting Certificate
