Experienced Administration/Operational Support Lead is sought after to work with our client in the Defence industry here in Perth.

**It is absolutely essential that you to be cleared Top Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) level, and will not be considered without this clearance**

Here you will be responsible for leading operation and administration business support tasks with best practice methodology and within constraints defined by the Commonwealth.

**Introduction**:

- This requirement consists of administrative, training and operational support working in a military location in Perth, Western Australia.
- This will require one appropriately experienced and established Top Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) cleared full-time equivalent staff position.
- The contractor will be responsible for conducting operation and administration business support tasks with best practice methodology and within constraints defined by the Commonwealth.
- This requirement arises from a need to engage contracted support personnel services with a Perth based SOCOMD sub-element for the duration of 3 years (with one option extension of one year).

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Under the direction of department's Staff Officers, perform complex operational business related tasks and activities.
- Provide specialist advice to relevant Defence stakeholders.
- Provide assistance with operational planning.
- Assist in the design and delivery of training in relevant areas.
- Support and / or lead the development of processes and procedures.
- Support and / or lead specific projects or programs to enhance specified operational outcomes.
- Develop, manage and maintain operations departmental records software, including the procurement of bespoke systems for specific outcomes.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across the Department and other Commonwealth departments. This aspect may require interstate overnight travel
- Support or lead engagement with industry for introduction of specific technologies and software to enhance relevant processes.
- Develop, coordinate and assist in the preparation of personnel related written briefs, minutes and other correspondence for Defence and external stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively within a small team under the direction of the department's Staff or Operations officer to ensure a high level of accuracy in the completion of tasks is achieved.
- Perform other office and governance operations business tasks as directed by the Commonwealth representative.

**Skills & Experience**:
It is desirable that the Operations Support Manager contractor have the following skills and experience:

- Deep experience working in a similar or relevant area within the Federal Government environment and the managerial level (APS6 / EL1 equiv).
- Experience working with military personnel desirable.
- Proven ability to conceive, communicate and execute complex strategies across multiple stakeholders.
- Experience in relevant training and / or teaching roles.
- Strong computer literacy
- Good attention to detail with strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work under supervision or independently.
- Working in a Defence or Federal Government environment.
