**Rolling Machine Operator**
**Location: Welshpool, WA**
**Company Overview**:
Our client specialises in manufacturing steel parts and components for the mining industry. They are seeking a skilled Rolling Machine Operator to join their team.

**Responsibilities**:

- **Reading and Interpreting Specifications**:

- Review job cards, drawings, and specifications to understand project requirements.
- Ensure accurate interpretation of technical details.
- **Calculating Dimensions and Tolerances**:

- Utilise mathematical knowledge and measuring instruments to calculate dimensions and tolerances.
- Maintain precision during the rolling process.
- **Plate Preparation**:

- Layout, measure, and mark steel plates to prepare them for rolling.
- Ensure proper alignment and positioning.
- **Machine Setup and Operation**:

- Set up, adjust, program, and operate rolling machinery.
- Follow established procedures to achieve desired results.
- **Quality Control**:

- Measure and inspect completed parts to detect defects.
- Ensure conformance to specifications and quality standards.
- **Machine Maintenance and Troubleshooting**:

- Observe and listen to operating machinery to identify malfunctions.
- Determine the need for adjustments or repairs to prevent damage.
- Assist with routine machine maintenance as required.
- **Efficiency and Safety**:

- Use time management skills to improve efficiency and reduce double handling.
- Follow safe work procedures and promptly report any hazards.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area through daily housekeeping.

**Key Competencies**:

- **Fluent English**: Able to read, write, and understand instructions effectively.
- **Task Completion**: Demonstrates the capacity to follow tasks through to completion.
- **Attention to Detail**: Maintains precision and accuracy in work.
- **Mathematical Ability**: Comfortable with calculations and measurements.
- **Numeric Skills**: Proficient in numerical operations.
- **Hand-Eye Coordination**: Good coordination for handling machinery.

**Essential Qualifications**:

- **Trade Certificate**: Relevant certification in metalworking or related field.
- **Experience**: 1-2 years of previous experience operating manual and/or CNC rolling machines.

**Desirable Qualification**:

- **Forklift License**: Holds a valid forklift license.

**Working Hours**
- **Early Shift**: 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM
- **Afternoon Shift**: 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM

Shift Allowance
- Employees working the afternoon shift will receive a **15% shift allowance**.
