**Position Information**:
Expressions of interest are invited from teachers interested in a career opportunity as Assistant Principal. The position will be located at Finigan School of Distance Education, 77 Agnes Avenue, Queanbeyan NSW 2620.
Finigan School of Distance Education (Finigan SDE) is a?purpose built?K-12 distance education school located in Queanbeyan NSW. The school has 95 full-time equivalent teaching staff and 800 enrolments. Finigan SDE has been specifically designed to meet the needs of distance education students and teachers. The school’s facilities include 20 web lesson studios and 2 video production studios.

Students attend weekly live online lessons which are supplemented by online learning materials. Residential schools operate at regular intervals throughout the year. Teachers conduct field visits to provide face-to-face support for students. The school is committed to the implementation of Quality Teaching Rounds and Visible Learning strategies.

Finigan SDE is an equity provision for many students. We provide quality individualised learning programs for students who meet the criteria of one or more of the distance education enrolment categories. These include geographical isolation, travelling within Australia or overseas, medical conditions that prevent attendance at a face-to-face school, vocationally talented students and students with additional learning and support needs, including those with disability and students in extraordinary circumstances. Finigan SDE also provides single course curriculum access for students attending face-to-face schools.?

**Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary.
- Demonstrated instructional leadership skills with the capacity to foster a team culture of collaborative, data driven evaluative practice, focused on improving the learning experiences of students.
- High level capacity to develop innovative evidence-based curriculum programs embedded with the literacy and numeracy progressions.
- Demonstrated capacity to effectively integrate technology to support quality teaching and learning.
- Capacity to work collaboratively as a member of the school leadership team, supporting the implementation of the school’s strategic directions and the curriculum opportunities of a K-12 context.
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
- 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs- 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams- 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents- 5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning- 6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies**Conditions**:
